Machine Gun Kelly Will 'Get Help After Tour Is Over' After Concert Controversy Caught On Camera

Machine Gun Kelly concert shove video

Get well soon, Machine Gun Kelly — in whatever way you deem may help you the most!

The Cleveland-based rapper was performing on Friday night at the Credit Union 1 Pavilion in Chicago when things took a turn for the worst backstage. And though many who were in attendance at the show didn’t exactly see what happened as it went down, cameras caught it all on tape: a contentious exchange between MGK and one of his stagehands, that included the rapper giving the unidentified staffer a hard shove! Whoa!

TMZ has the video (you can see it HERE), and it all went down once MGK realized one of his guitars wasn’t working near a part of one of his tracks where he’s supposed to perform a guitar solo. The rapper runs backstage to see what’s going on, at which point he confronts a frantic stagehand who’d come to try to help with another guitar, and what appears to be a mic stand.

Kelly definitely appears to make physical contact with the man at first, before running to the other side of the stage. And then once again, at the other end, MGK appears to physically shove the guitar back into the stage hand’s chest, as he’s visibly upset and frustrated by the entire situation. Ugh!!

Sadly, it’s not even over there; after missing pretty much the entire guitar solo and getting caught out doing a bunch of nothing for a minute or two, Kelly appears to lurk back over to the stagehand — who was already clearly upset and flustered — to stare down the guy from above, before leaping off the stage and following him backstage. Bro, what the f**k?!

At least there’s a sliver of optimism here, however. After the show ended on Friday night, the Ohio-born artist took to Twitter to acknowledge how things went from bad to worse throughout his unfortunate altercation with the stagehand. “Tonight the frustrations from my personal life came out on the stage,” Machine Gun Kelly wrote late Friday night. “Sorry to my fans and my band. i’ll get help after tour is over.”

Here’s the tweet, in full (below):

Wow. Very mature, actually!

Obviously, it’s unclear what he means by get help — are we talking therapy, or counseling, or something else altogether? — but just the fact that the rapper is man enough to admit touring has been a grind should go a long way to helping him out from here! Here’s hoping he makes good on that promise, and help comes effectively and promptly.
