Teen Mom star Mackenzie McKee‘s mother, Angie Douthit, passed away on Monday evening after a battle with brain cancer.
The sad update was first announced on Douthit’s Instagram, which was used to post updates about her medical journey. On Friday, it was shared on the account that the mother of four was ending her radiation treatment plan, and would be entering hospice care at home.

Mackenzie shared a heartfelt caption to her followers on Tuesday morning. Along with a photo of her late momma, the MTV star penned:
“Momma @angiedouthit has crossed the finish line. She did not lose the battle, she one. She is healed and running in heaven in eternity. Idk anyone who left earth with such an impact, Your entire life you never waisted a chance to let the world know Gods love. When we would try to brag on what an amazing person you are you would respond with “it’s not me, it’s God” Could you imagine this world if we all lived like Angie Douthit.”
The 25-year-old continued (below):
“She always said “it’s easy, we were put on earth to share Gods love.” And boy did she. 700 daily post for you guys to read daily, hundreds of speaking engagements even when she could barely walk or speak, she simply trusted That God would speak through her.”
As you may recall, McKee first revealed her mother’s cancer diagnosis in January 2018. Unfortunately, just four months after sharing the news, Angie’s stage four cancer began to spread to her lungs and bones as well.
The mother of three wrapped up her heart-wrenching post:
“Momma, i did not deserve you. But you loved me so unconditionally. You were the glue that held me together. The one who always believed in me. Idk what I will do without you but I hope this goes by fast so I can hurry and come be with you. You passed a torch down to us and I will not fail you. I will live for Christ and love like him like you always taught me. I will make you proud momma.”
On Angie’s account, a post was made announcing her passing and encouraging followers to “spread love and not hate” in her honor:
Our condolences go out to Mackenzie and the Douthit family during this difficult time.
