We knew something sounded a little off with this!
Thursday, we heard word of Macy Gray cancelling her Connecticut concert at the Foxwoods MGM Theater due to an unforeseen illness.
Then, a very good source EXCLUSIVE to PerezHilton.com saw Miz Gray gambling the same night! Now, a poker table and a bed aren’t the same thing, so obviously things were a bit confusing!
But according to Macy, it was all a huge misunderstanding. The soulful songbird tells PerezHilton.com:
“I was in my dressing room at 4pm for soundcheck. The show started at 7. They pushed it back to 730 because the doctor came at 6:45 and we thought my voice would clear up in about an hour because she gave me a cortisone shot. I didn’t leave til about half way through seals show – that was about 945. I did go play poker later, like 11 maybe. But I was completely hoarse. And sad. And I talked to people in the casino. Everyone involved in the show heard me speak. And we have proof that doctor came to the venue.”
Ugh, don’t ya hate it when your voice goes out? Soo annoying!!
Her management also stresses:
“Her band started the set at 7:30 pm and from the side of the stage the doctor determined that she was not in a position to sing and pulled the plug. Wednesday nights show was cancelled due to illness from the side of the stage under the direction of the doctor who was in attendance. She’s been to the doctor again this morning who has diagnosed her with bronchitis and has given her another shot to ensure she can sing tonight. Her voice is already feeling stronger and she is excited for the show.”
Poor Macy! We would have gone to rest immediately, but everyone copes with disappointments differently!
So did you hear that, Connecticut fans? Macy loves you! She really, really loves you! She just needed to handle the lost opportunity to brighten your nights on-stage by trying to win something else off-stage.
