Madge Gives The Shoes Off Her Feet!

Although she received backlash from her outspoken views about discrimination against Gypsies in Europe, Madonna is not letting that stop her contribution to the cause.
Madge is donating one of her favorite pairs of Christian Dior shoes to Ovidiu Roon, a charity that supports children’s education in the Gypsy community (also known as Roma).
The gold skyskraper heels signed by the Queen of Pop will be sold at the foundation’s annual ball later this month.
“Madonna’s very mild comment regarding equality shone a spotlight on a common European attitude toward Gypsies,” said Leslie Hawke, president of Ovidiu Rom. “We’re thrilled to have her donation because she is such an icon of innovation and vigor and ‘can do’ spirit.”
Ethan Hawke, the son of the charity’s president, will attend the event and contributions to the auction will be made by several other celebrities including Vanessa Redgrave.
