A man in the Manchester area of England has been accused of murdering his roommate, cutting up the man’s body into dozens of pieces — at least 27 of which the cops say they have since found — and then stealing his identity and impersonating him for about a month following the killing.
Back in late March of 2024, according to police in Winton, Greater Manchester, a man named Marcin Majerkiewicz allegedly murdered his roommate Stuart Everett at the home they shared.
Per BBC News and others, cops said they later found at least 27 different pieces of the victim’s body, all hacked up and strewn about in a nearby open area. Those discoveries were kicked off after about a third of Everett’s body was discovered by members of the public wrapped in what a police report called “cling film” and lying about in the Kersal Dale nature reserve in Salford.

Authorities immediately moved to investigate upon that discovery, and were eventually able to confirm Everett’s identity. In doing so, they spoke to witnesses who reported seeing a man entering a pathway in the nature reserve at around 5:00 p.m. local time one night in early April of last year. The man, witnesses said, was carrying a big blue bag that appeared to be very heavy, and he was walking straight into the wooded area where the body parts were later found.
Per the BBC News, police eventually traced the man’s description back to Majerkiewicz, and on April 25, 2024 — almost exactly a month after cops believe Everett was killed — Marcin was arrested on suspicion of murder. After the arrest, investigators found what a police report called a “clean-up operation” in the home the two men had shared.
Cops say they also found two cell phones on Majerkiewicz — one of which belonged to Everett. And as if that weren’t enough, they also found several bank cards that had recently been taken out in the dead person’s name.
When police began looking into the paper trail, they also discovered that Majerkiewicz had allegedly sent texts and birthday cards to various family members of Everett’s while posing as the man in the month after his death and before Marcin’s arrest.
That included an April 16 message to Everett’s niece which The Times reports was allegedly sent in terminology not consistent with the dead man — because, ya know, it would have been sent more than two weeks after he died. Per that same outlet, Marcin is suspected of also sending a birthday card to Everett’s brother Richard Ziemacki during that same time frame while posing as the dead man, as well.
Creepy AF…
When cops recovered the card in question from the brother, they checked it forensically and reportedly found Majerkiewicz’s fingerprints on it.
In the end, further forensic investigation indicated Everett sustained severe blunt force trauma to the skull due to what the Manchester Evening News reported as being repeated blows to the head. That outlet also cited police officials who said they suspect Majerkiewicz used a hacksaw to cut up Everett’s body after the killing.

BTW, a third man, Michal Polchowski, also lived at the same address where the two men had lived at the time of the incident. However, he has not been charged with anything or linked to the murder in any way, local outlets report.
A murder charge was levied earlier this month against Majerkiewicz. Beyond that, the investigation into Everett’s death is ongoing, according to People this week which cited confirmation of that fact from the Manchester Crown Court.
In the meantime, all we can really do is send our condolences to Everett’s friends, family, and loved ones. Just an awful way to die. And then to allegedly have his identity stolen afterwards, no less… Ugh.
