One Oklahoma man did not need Kim Kardashian West to save him from a lengthy prison sentence.
According to reports, Cory Gregg was cleared of drug charges after lab results showed he was in possession of powdered milk — not cocaine, as officers who arrested him back in August believed.
The homeless man was reportedly cuffed after a police officer tried to pull him over for not having lights on the back of his bicycle. He was reportedly on probation at the time.

A chase apparently ensued, with the man eventually jumping off the bike and running away on foot. The officer eventually stopped him and found “a large amount of white powder substance” in a coffee can in his backpack, according to an affidavit obtained by The Oklahoman.
The officer thought the substance was “cocaine based on [his] training and experience,” and claimed the powdery substance initially tested positive for cocaine during a roadside test.
But further lab testing found the substance was dry dairy, which Gregg apparently told Oklahoma County District Judge Timothy R. Henderson he got from a food pantry.

While the homeless man originally pled not guilty to the felony charge of cocaine possession with intent to distribute, he changed his plea to guilty after almost two months in the slammer, where he was held since his arrest in August.
Per The Washington Post, the man told the judge he had entered the guilty plea so he could GTFO of Oklahoma County Jail, which is said to be one of the worst in the country. According to NPR, the US Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division has inspected the jail multiple times since 2003, and found the jail’s conditions violated prisoners’ constitutional rights.
As for Gregg, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison — until the lab report showed he was not in possession of booger sugar. He then requested to withdraw his guilty plea, which was granted by Henderson on Thursday. The case was dismissed on Friday.

Interestingly enough, many roadside tests for illegal substances tend to produce false results, The Washington Post reported, but many departments continue to use them anyway.
