In case you hadn’t heard, CBS killed everyone’s buzz this week by rejecting a Super Bowl commercial advocating for medical marijuana legalization.
Apparently, the network is not willing to break its ban on marijuana ads — which is a big shame because the nixed medical marijuana commercial is an incredibly moving statement in a conversation we need to have.
The ad shows how medical marijuana has made the lives of three people livable again — a boy who suffered from hundreds of seizures a day that couldn’t be treated by traditional medication, a man once addicted to opioids, and a veteran who dealt with chronic severe pain after his leg was amputated.

Acreage Holdings, the cannabis investment firm behind the ad, said it was willing to pay $5 million for the spot, but CBS puff, puff, passed on it after seeing a rough outline.
Acreage President George Allen told Bloomberg News the ad was supposed to “create an advocacy campaign” that called for the legalization of medical marijuana. While the drug is now legal in 30 states, it’s still illegal under federal law.
The campaign won’t reach Super Bowl-level audiences this year… but you can watch it for now (below)!
