Deaf Academy Award winning actress and current contestant on season 4 of Celebrity Apprentice, Marlee Matlin, flew to Uganda this past weekend to help others with a hearing disability.
She lent her hands to officials at the Starkey Hearing Foundation to fit aids to hearing-impaired African kids.
The charity, which the actress has been a long time supporter of, aims to fit 22,000 state-of-art hearing devices to children and adults across the continent in 24 days.
She said of her work with the foundation:
“I have been a friend and supporter of the Starkey Hearing Foundation for about eight years now and believe whole-heartedly in their work to bring the gift of hearing to those who would normally not have access to this level of hearing care, which is essential for one to realize their true and full potential.”
