Martin Short‘s daughter’s autopsy report has been released.
As you know, the legendary actor’s daughter Katherine Short sadly died by suicide earlier this year at just 42 years old. Now, US Weekly has obtained the full autopsy report from the Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiners, and it’s uncovering more sad details about her death.
In the report, it says that the 76-year-old actor called one of his friends to go “check on her welfare” because he hadn’t heard from her in “over 24 hours”. When the unnamed friend turned up at Katherine’s residence, police report they found “multiple notes were located at the scene believed to have been left by” her, and were “posted on the door”. When the friend found them, they immediately called 911.

After this, we know what happened. The Los Angeles Police Department and Fire Department responded to the call, and heartbreakingly found Katherine dead in her home. They confirmed she died by suicide, suffering a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. So, so sad.
The report stated the 42-year-old “had a history of depression and other mental health illnesses” for many years. They also revealed she had benzodiazepines in her system at the time of her death.
Our heart continues to be with the Short family. May Katherine rest in peace.
