Why not ask for $40 mil, while UR at it Matt???
Last month, we heard that NBC wants Ryan Seacrest for the Today Show…but we ALSO heard that they don’t want to lose Matt Lauer!
Now, sources are saying that Matt will renew his contract with the network if they offer him $30 million!
Here are the two “schools of thought” regarding Matt’s newfound change of heart about staying at Today, according to network sources:
– He was jealous that execs wanted to replace him with Ryan Seacrest
– He always intended on staying, but he threatened to leave to get more money
Whatever his reasoning, we have a feeling that NBC is going to do whatever it takes to keep him! The Today show makes around $450 million/year…and that’s largely attributable to Matt (obvi)!
What do U think? Does Matt Lauer deserve $30 million a year for his job at NBC???
