Matthew McConaughey Says He's Had The Same Perm Since High School

For the life of us, we can’t imagine Matthew McConaughey sitting down for a perm.
And yet it’s completely true!

The actor recently revealed to Entertainment Tonight that he’s been rocking the same perm since 1985, and he’s never looked back.
He said:

“I graduated high school in 1988. I remember in ├óΓé¼╦£85 I got the perm. I think my hair was straight before I got the perm, and I don’t think it’s ever gone back to being straight since I got the perm. This perm’s lasted since I was 15 years old, I think.”

We’re not sure that’s actually possible, but if he insists, who are we to say otherwise?
The Gold star also recalled other ’80s fashions that he happily partook in, including parachute pants:

“I remember there were the parachute pants that I had to roll up the bottom of. The jeans we’d pinch ’em together, roll em up. The Top Siders. I had a nice rat tail├óΓé¼┬ª I have my sleeveless rock and roll T-shirts, still have ’em, still wear ’em.”

Can you imagine??? We have to conjure up images of Matthew in Dazed & Confused to get an idea of what he might have looked like in high school.
During the interview, the 47-year-old touched on preparation for his new role in Gold, and how he had to pack on the pounds.
He revealed:

“I said, ├óΓé¼╦£6 months, you say yes to whatever you want to eat, whatever you want to drink, 24/7. If you think twice about it, McConaughey, you have to have double,’ so it happened kind of easily. The whole family loosened up, my nickname was ├óΓé¼╦£Captain Fun’ around the house because every night was pizza night if the kids wanted it, milkshakes for breakfast was just fine.”

That sounds incredibly fun. Milkshakes for breakfast? Sign us up!
