Where The Wild Things Are Author Passes

So sad.
Maurice Sendak, author and illustrator of one of the most popular children’s books, Where The Wild Things Are has passed.
Reportedly, Sendak suffered a recent stroke and died of complications related to it today, at age 83.
The story legend passed at his home in Connecticut, where he had lived for 50 years with his late partner, Eugene Glynn.
Maurice was a groundbreaking author/illustrator, with twenty-two of his books named best illustrated books of the year by the New York Times. His 1963 work, Where The Wild Things Are, earned him the Caldecott Medal and made him a childhood staple.
Rest in peace, Maurice. Thanks for encouraging our imaginations to run wild.
