People are REALLY unhappy about how Whitney Houston‘s funeral was handled by the local government.
From lowing flags to half mast, to $187,000 in police overtime, people are upset!
So, like the good public servant he is, the Mayor has responded before things get out of hand! Here’s what he said:
“As with any major event, and Ms. Houston’s funeral was an international event, our police department’s priority is to keep both citizens and visitors alike safe when they come to our city.”
It’s true, it’s not like they paid the funeral to be there — and as a major event, people need protected. It DOES suck, however, that it took up roughly 5% of the city’s police budget!
Should there be some sort of donation made for the inconvenience, perhaps??
We don’t know! How do U think things like this should be handled??
