Meghan Markle thinks it’ll be easy to win back her popularity in Britain… but even her hubby, Prince Harry, doesn’t think that’s possible! OUCH!
The Duke Sussex is expected to bring his wife and kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, with him to the UK when he returns next month for Invictus Games events. This is monumental considering they’ve hardly stepped foot in the area since the couple’s exit from the royal family six years ago!
While the trip is for work and could help continue reunion efforts with at least King Charles III, a source close to the couple claims the Suits alum has an ulterior motive for the visit! Speaking to Rob Shuter‘s Naughty But Nice Substack on Thursday, they dished:
“This is the start of what friends jokingly call ‘Operation Meghan.’ The family trip isn’t just a visit — it’s the beginning of a carefully considered effort to reconnect.”
Another source said Meg’s the one spearheading this plan:
“This is Meghan’s project, not Harry’s. Harry has made peace with much of what happened. Meghan still believes perceptions can change.”
Despite how awful things were before the move critics called “Megxit,” sources close to the actress said she often reflects on the warm welcome she received by locals when she married Harry in 2018. After all the hate and drama, she thinks she can win that love back! An insider detailed:
“She remembers feeling embraced by Britain. Meghan believes that connection can be rebuilt, but it starts with showing up.”
Harry, on the other hand, isn’t holding out hope! A source shared:
“Harry’s focus is his family and moving forward. Meghan sees unfinished business. She believes there’s still an opportunity to write a different ending.”
And she’s not letting his skepticism hold her back. The first part of the plan is to return to the UK as a family — whether or not the country’s ready to welcome her back! A confidant dished:
“Meghan has always believed in herself. If anyone can pull off a comeback, she thinks it’s her.”
It seems like an uphill battle, especially without the support of the royal family, and as love for the monarchy has waned amid recent controversies. But we’re not shocked Meghan’s wanting to try! If Harry’s as determined to return to England as it sounds, she may have no choice for the sake of her marriage than to make it work.
