Just when it seemed things were settling down, could trouble be brewing again between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle?

Just last week Kensington Palace confirmed via a statement to Us Weekly that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are splitting from their joint charity with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge:
“The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and The Duke and Duchess of Sussex has today announced the conclusions of a review into its structure, and how it will best support Their Royal Highnesses with future charitable activity.”
The statement continued, explaining Meg and Prince Harry will be establishing their own foundation:
“Later this year The Royal Foundation will become the principal charitable and philanthropic vehicle for The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will establish their own new charitable foundation with transitional operating support from The Royal Foundation.”
Now, an Us Weekly insider is shedding some light onto why the in-law’s have chosen to go their separate ways:
“Kensington Palace is painting this as a natural progression, but there were definitely issues with Meghan and Kate seeing eye to eye on how they wanted to run this charity.”
While the source clarifies this is not a “disagreement or rift” between Kate and Meghan, it’s simply a difference of opinion. The Duchess of Sussex wants “to be more involved — create initiatives and be in the trenches,” while the Duchess of Cambridge wanted to be “more hands off.”
As they move forward, Archie‘s momma is “figuring out what she can do in terms of being active [and more] comfortable with her role.”
And she’s got the full backing of her husband, who “supports her but recommends that she move with ease,” the confidant divulged. They continued:
“It’s hard for Meghan in London because the press is so vicious to her there. This is her life, but her mentality is like, ‘Well if this is what it’s going to be like, I’m going to do what I want to do. I won’t play by the rules.'”
No surprise there! The 37-year-old has been trailblazing ever since she joined the royal family, and has made her charitable works a huge priority from the start. Recently, the couple announced they would be rotating out the accounts they follow on Instagram monthly, based on a charitable theme:
“Each month we will honour this same concept and change the accounts we solely follow based on a different theme or cause. Please go to our homepage and click ‘following’ to see each of the select accounts and find out more about their work.”
Keep up the good work, Meghan and Kate!! Just don’t get into any fights about it. LOLz!
