Sources Say Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Will Choose A 'Strong' Name That Will Unify Their Countries

The most popular royal baby name guess is Alexander.

People around the world are still reeling with excitement, ever since proud parents Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their first child together — a healthy, baby boy! — on Monday, May 6.
But PSA, y’all: the brand, spanking new Royal baby of Sussex still doesn’t have a name yet!

The debate over the little one’s moniker will be has been fierce, with royal commentators and experts doing their very best to make educated bets.
We can totally understand the hype, too, as this baby is the perfect blend of two influential people from two different, powerful countries. The first of his kind, making history for sure!
Before it was revealed that the former Suits star had given birth to a boy, Royal commentator Victoria Arbiter  suggested that the royal baby may be called Eleanor, Rose, or Alice if a girl is born or possibly Alexander if the baby is a boy. Her logic was simple: Meghan and Harry’s respective backgrounds would most likely serve as inspiration, to choose a name that has ties to both U.K. and U.S. history.
While speaking to CBS News, she previously explained:

“I don’t have an inside track on the actual name but I think when it comes to names we are looking at a very strong name because that is who Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are. But I also think we are going to see a name that works on both sides of the pond.”

But now that we know it’s a boy, which name is believed to be a front-runner?

Expert Amy Jones, from major betting agency Paddy Power, echoed the above sentiment and told Sky News that their most popular bet was actually “Alexander”.
She explained that even though the name James was a second favorite, Alexander had trumped it. Read her full take on it (below):

“What we’re seeing the most bets on is Alexander. So since the news broke that the baby was a boy, Alexander’s been the most popular. And I personally think that’s probably because there’s a US link there with Alexander Hamilton. And, of course, the Queen’s middle name is Alexandra. And I think our betters like when there’s a little bit of meaning behind what they’re betting on. I think it has that link between the US and the UK.”

It sounds like everyone is agreement there! Can you picture it, Perezcious readers? Alexander, the little Duke of Sussex? What is the little one’s royal title, anyway?
We’ll just have to wait for more official updates from the pair, once they’re ready to share!
