As the official start date of their exit from the royal family looms, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly feeling more and more ready for the next phase of their lives.

“Things are in a better space now between the couple and the royal family. While of course there have been tensions, the family is getting through it.”
As you’ll recall, the twosome announced their intentions to step back from their roles as senior members of the royal family in January, which did not help calm rumors of an ongoing feud between them and Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Based on everything we’ve heard, not only does distance NOT make the heart grow fonder, everyone wants to keep their distance. As we recently shared, an insider tipped off Us Weekly to the fact that things are definitely no where near healed between these brothers:
“Publicly, they’ve stopped short of trash-talking each other. But behind closed doors, they’re both filled with anger and resentment.”
Kinda seems like their emotional distance outweighs the physical one!! A confidant previously spilled to People the end to negotiations of Megxit may have allowed the brothers to part ways, but did not fix what’s been obviously broken between them:
“They didn’t leave on good terms by any means, but they are both relieved that it’s over.”
There have of course been royal scandals in the past, and even other family members who have stepped down from their roles (willingly or not so willingly), but this was DIFFERENT. The brothers we all grew up idolizing couldn’t hide their friction, the source added:
“Perhaps [Meghan and Harry] didn’t think things through exactly as they could have, but they wanted to be happy. Who can blame them for that?”
While all of this juicy info is fine and good, we’ve all wanted to hear something straight from the royals themselves, which we got back in October. Harry shared with ITV cameras while filming the doc Harry and Meghan: An African Adventure:
“Part of this role and part of this job and this family being under the pressure that it’s under inevitably, you know, stuff happens. But look, we’re brothers. We’ll always be brothers. We’re certainly on different paths at the moment but I will always be there for him and as I know he’ll always be there for me.”
