Michael Cohen is re-adjusting his priorities.
In his first interview since federal agents raided his home and hotel room, Donald Trump‘s longtime personal lawyer said that he now puts “family and country first” — making it clear he’s prepared to flip on POTUS.

Speaking to ABC News in an off-camera interview released on Good Morning America Monday, Cohen explained he would not protect the president over his family if prosecutors gave him a choice.
He told George Stephanopoulos:
“My wife, my daughter and my son have my first loyalty and always will. I put family and country first.”
Another witch bites the dust!
When asked if he was considering cooperating with prosecutors to evade charges, Cohen said he would defer to his new lawyer, Guy Petrillo, for advice if he was charged with anything.
As for how he might respond if the betrayed president came after him and tried to discredit his work, Cohen teased:
“I will not be a punching bag as part of anyone’s defense strategy. I am not a villain of this story, and I will not allow others to try to depict me that way.”

As we reported, Cohen’s home, office, and hotel room were raided in April as part of a federal investigation into his personal business dealings. Officials are also looking into a $130,000 payment he made to Stormy Daniels in exchange for her silence on what may or may not have happened between her, Trump, and a rolled up Forbes magazine.
Cohen, of course, didn’t comment on the payment in the ABC interview, but hinted that one day he would:
“I want to answer. One day I will answer.”
Speaking on whether or not he had regrets about how he handled the investigation, he added:
“As an attorney and as an employee, I tried to make good faith judgments in the past. I also acknowledge that I am not perfect. I would prefer not to be in this situation at all, obviously. I want to regain my name and my reputation and my life back.”
Cohen once again denied that he had any involvement with Russian interference with the 2016 presidential election, but said he did not agree with Trump’s recent tweet repeating Vladimir Putin‘s claim of innocence:
“Simply accepting the denial of Mr. Putin is unsustainable. I respect our nation’s intelligence agencies’… unanimous conclusions.”
Wow, he really is putting America first. Bad news for the man who runs it!
