Gossip Girl and Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Michelle Trachtenberg is dead at just 39 years old.
Sources confirmed the loss to the New York Post on Wednesday, noting that her death is not being investigated as suspicious. The performer was found by her mother at around 8 a.m. local time on Wednesday at One Columbus Place, a large luxury apartment complex near Columbus Circle in New York City.
According to ABC News police sources, Michelle recently underwent a liver transplant and may have been experiencing complications. She is believed to have died of natural causes and no foul play is suspected. Oh no… An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of her death. So sad.

The actress sparked concerns last year from fans who were worried about her changing appearance, claiming she looked “sick” because her hair was thinner and her eyes had a yellow tint.
But the Harriet the Spy alum insisted she was “happy and healthy.” Her last post on Instagram came just one week ago when she posted a throwback photo of herself on the red carpet, remembering, “I wanted to look like naughty #tinkerbell.” See HERE.
Michelle starred in many beloved projects over the years, including Nickelodeon‘s The Adventures of Pete and Pete, Inspector Gadget, 17 Again, Mercy, EuroTrip, and much more. But of course, she will forever be known by the fandoms of Gossip Girl and Buffy as part of the TV family. She will be so, so missed.
