Miley Cyrus Wrote New Album To Finally Explain How Liam Hemsworth 'Marriage Was Toxic'

Miley Cyrus is living her best life!

As you most likely know, the 30-year-old singer and hubby Liam Hemsworth broke up less than a year after getting married in December 2018 and finalized their divorce in February 2020. It’s now three years later, and Miley just dropped Endless Summer Vacation — a theme album in which she opens up about her painful split with the man she had been with on and off again for 10 years of her life.

But why open up about her divorce through music now? A source told People on Wednesday that Miley was ready to “tell her side of the story” after having “had time to process and heal” from it. But mostly, the insider noted that the Wrecking Ball artist was only now, finally, in a good place again after her difficult breakup:

“She’s the healthiest and happiest she’s been in a long time. Everyone was blaming her for the divorce and calling her this wild child, but that wasn’t fair. Their relationship and marriage was toxic, and she was heartbroken.”

On the new album, Miley touched on her past “toxic” relationship with the 33-year-old actor on several tracks, including the song Muddy Feet. And fans 100 percent believed the LOL actress was confirming the rumors that Liam cheated on her during their relationship, especially when she sings:

“And you smell like perfume that I didn’t purchase / Now I know why you’ve been closing the curtains / Get the f**k out of my house”

Damn!!! While her new album had some eyebrow-raising lyrics, the People insider insisted that Miley wasn’t “trying to bash” the Hunger Games star but instead was trying to share her truth:

“She’s not trying to bash Liam, but she feels like she has every right to own the narrative after everyone was picking her apart after the breakup.”

True! Both of them have since moved on following their divorce. Liam has been dating 26-year-old model Gabriella Brooks since December 2019. Meanwhile, Miley has been seeing 24-year-old drummer Maxx Morando since late 2021. And it sounds like she’s been very happy with her new beau! Another source told the outlet that Maxx is a “cool guy” that the musician finds refreshing due to his “low-key” lifestyle:

“He has no interest in being a huge celebrity; he’s very low-key. Miley loves these qualities. Miley can be herself. They are supportive of each other’s careers. Miley is enjoying life and things are great.”
