Miley Cyrus is spilling it all while promoting her new single Malibu!
In an interview with WKTU‘s Cubby & Carolina Bermudez airing Tuesday, the songstress sat down to chat about her songwriting process, but really, we were more interested in her talk about Katy Perry and Madonna!

After reuniting with the Chained To The Rhythm singer at Wango Tango over the weekend, Miley mentioned how the two have nearly hit the decade mark on their friendship… and it all started with I Kissed A Girl!
The 24-year-old revealed:
“She’s been a friend of mine for a really long time. We were actually just realizing the other day that next year, we’ll have been friends for 10 years. I think that’s my friend that I’ve known the longest. Which is really really weird! That’s like a really long time. When she came out with [I] Kissed A Girl, I was doing the Hannah Montana movie, and I heard her on the radio, they said, ‘Who did you write that about?’ She said ME!”
Cyrus continued:
“She asked me to go to the VMAs with her. That’s when I started doing my whole VMA controversy. I was like ├óΓé¼╦£I’ll go with Katy Perry!’. And she took me, but my mom like didn’t want me to go by myself, ya know like stranger danger. So my mom went with me in the limo with Katy Perry, and my mom [Tish Cyrus], didn’t really get the joke, she just thought it was cool that I got to go with Katy Perry. Yeah, so that’s how we met and we just stayed friends.”
Wow. To think when Miley kissed Katy in the middle of a 2014 concert, the 32-year-old didn’t actually like it!
We’re glad they could get over that hurdle. LOLz!
Mileybird also reminisced on the more recent past, adding there’s one song she doesn’t like to perform live anymore: Wrecking Ball!
“I’ll do it, but I don’t love it. It’s when you’re so stoked about something and then you have to sing a song that bums you out. And I’ll never live down when I licked a sledge hammer.”
Fair!!
On the other hand, the Wrecking Ball singer is super stoked about the upcoming Madonna biopic! Responding to rumors of her being cast as Her Madgesty though, the blonde beauty shared she wouldn’t be the right pick:
“I think that’s a huge, huge compliment. I don’t know, I don’t know. If she asked me I probably couldn’t turn down Madonna, but you know what, Paris Jackson would be a great Madonna because they’ve been taking pictures of her… She looks so much like Madonna it kind of freaks me out sometimes… I think they should cast her. I think I’m the wrong pick. I think I’m wrong for it. I think Paris Jackson should do it.”
Well, Paris certainly has got Miley’s stamp of approval!
