Millie Bobby Brown Responds After Faking A Skincare Tutorial With Her Own Product Line -- 'I'm Not An Expert'

millie bobby brown apologizes for skincare fail

Millie Bobby Brown is doing her best to bounce back after posting a video of her “nighttime skincare routine” where she clearly doesn’t use any products.

In the painfully obvious video, the Stranger Things star shows fans how she “uses” her face wash and moisturizer from her Florence by Mills beauty and skincare line, while her makeup remains untouched throughout the vid.

The 15-year-old starts with using her face mist, which she does actually spray, but it doesn’t appear to actually hit her face — and also, why apply a mist before cleansing your skin?

Next up, MBB takes her invisible “scrub” and begins to vigorously rub her face, though it’s obvious despite the filter on the video there’s absolutely nothing happening. After “washing off,” her scrub, she repeats the same routine with her cleanser (another invisible product), which she leaves again to wash off.

Finally, Brown finishes off with her “moisturizer,” though she does actually use her lip oil before signing off on the video.

Though the comments have been disabled on YouTube, many critics took to the brand’s Instagram account to continue sharing their thoughts. Here’s what some followers had to say (below):

“Looll she took the video down of her clearly not putting anything on her face yoooo????”

“Y’all so full of it you deleted that lying ass video of Millie “washing her face””

“Wait… what happened to the video where she was using make believe products?! ? ?”

On Thursday, the Godzilla: King of the Monsters actress addressed the controversy in a post on her IG, writing:

“I’m still learning the best way to share my routines as I get to know this space better — I’m not an expert. I thought doing a quick video replicating my personal process for that night was okay, but that’s not what was conveyed. I understand, I appreciate all of your feedback on this journey, please keep sharing your thoughts and I will too! ily guys x #loveandlight”

Even if she’s not an expert, this is her line of products! And considering this was a promotion for her own brand, wouldn’t she want to put the effort in? Better yet, aren’t people on her team urging her to do better than those who have come before her?

Ahem, Kylie Jenner‘s failed face washing video which didn’t remove a majority of her foundation, and Shay Mitchell “removing her eye makeup” for an #ad where she clearly doesn’t wash anything off. Let’s do better, ladies!!

Regardless, what are your thoughts on Millie’s video and follow-up apology? Sound OFF (below) in the comments!!
