Mindy Kaling is a big fan of Meghan Markle‘s cooking!
During the Golden Globes, the comedian chatted with Deadline about the Duchess of Sussex’s upcoming Netflix series, With love, Meghan. Mindy makes a guest appearance in the cooking show, so naturally, the outlet wanted to know what her cooking is really like! The Mindy Project star shared:
“I was just in my maternity leave and Meghan texted me and said, ‘Hey, do you wanna come be in my show, come to Montecito and have me cook for you?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, that sounds perfect. I would love to do that.’”

While she considers herself an “OK cook,” she said the mother of two “unsurprisingly kind of blew me out of the water.” Really?! Mindy broke it down, elaborating:
“The thing about her recipes and being there is that it’s just really accessible. I mean, she has a garden. She has a garden from scratch, which I could never do, and chickens. I’d probably — they would all die if I tried to take care of chickens. I was like, ‘Oh, this is very accessible.’”
Netflix has been pitching the show as an inside look at Meghan’s “personal tips and tricks” that embrace “playfulness over perfection” and that demonstrate “how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected.” Sounds like Mindy was well prepped on how to promote the show. LOLz!
As for Prince Harry‘s skills? While he was there for her visit, the screenwriter didn’t get to try any of his food, she shared:
“I heard he’s actually a pretty good cook. He knows his way around a kitchen.”

The show is set to premiere on January 15, so we’ll get to see just how “accessible” Meg’s cooking really is!
