Just like her hubby Orlando Bloom, Miranda Kerr was the victim of the Bling Ring‘s sticky fingers! Specifically her panty drawer!
In Nancy Jo Sales‘ new book, which inspired Sofia Coppola‘s upcoming film, the Vanity Fair contributing editor explains why, of all things, they would go after Miranda’s butt floss.
According to Sales:
“Their obsession with underwear had something to do with this whole ├óΓé¼┼ôpornification├óΓé¼┬¥ thing. They wanted to look sexy. Looking sexy in a celebrity├óΓé¼Γäós clothes, well that├óΓé¼Γäós even sexier. Especially Miranda Kerr, who├óΓé¼Γäós a Victoria├óΓé¼Γäós Secret model. The fact that they stole the underwear just seems so weird, but it├óΓé¼Γäós not weird when you think about it, because they├óΓé¼Γäóre growing up at a time when their culture is constantly telling them to be sexy. Everything from toys to video games to music to fashion is hypersexualized for girls. Stealing their underwear was part of a whole trend to emulate these celebrities. They don├óΓé¼Γäót just want expensive underwear; they want Paris Hilton├óΓé¼Γäós underwear.”
