Miss California Abused As A Child?

If you think Carrie Prejean has had it rough the last month, that’s nothing compared to what the Enquirer is reporting about her childhood.

Sources are telling the mag that as her parents went through a grueling and bitter divorce, Carrie was subject to both mental and physical abuse.

Court documents reveal several examples of her abuse, such as being beaten with a belt, shoved into a metal bed frame, which left a scar on her back, and having her cheeks pulled so roughly that her braces cut the inside of her mouth.

The mag also includes a letter written by Prejean’s older sister, who retells the horrors of growing up in their family.

She writes: “My Dad hit my Mom before when they were married and now he hits my little sister with the belt, wich (sic) gives her scars and bruises. One time he grabbed my lower neck part of my face and it really hurt.”

Digging deeper into the filings, it was also suggested that Mr. Prejean preferred to sleep in the bedroom of his two soon-to-be teenage daughters and was thought to be nude at the time. And the abuse does not end with the father as the court documents also discuss instances when Mrs. Prejean hit Carrie with a shoe in the back of her head and proceeded to lock her out of the house.

We’re truly sorry to hear these kinds of things.

Maybe Carrie should consider speaking out against child abuse as a new platform?
