Host Steve Harvey announced the lovely Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez Arevalo was the winner of the prestigious pageant, and it was a beautiful moment. She accepted her crown, sash, and flowers…
The only problem? SHE WAS THE FIRST RUNNER-UP!
The winner was supposed to be Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach — Steve read the names on the card wrong!

How could he have misread the name?? They don’t even sound alike!
Steve was quick to apologize for the entire affair on Twitter, writing:
I’d like to apologize wholeheartedly to Miss Colombia & Miss Philippines for my huge mistake. I feel terrible.
