Miss USA Noelia Voigt has stepped down from her coveted position — and fans think something is seriously wrong!
The 2023 pageant winner announced on Monday that she was resigning from her role in favor of her mental health after just over seven months of being crowned. In her announcement, she wrote in a lengthy Instagram post that she values “making decisions that feel best for you and your mental health.” She explained:
“Deep down I know that this is just the beginning of a new chapter for me, and my hope is that I continue to inspire others to remain steadfast, prioritize your mental health, advocate for yourself and others by using your voice, and never be afraid of what the future holds, even if it feels uncertain.”

Noelia was the first Venezuelan-American woman to be crowned Miss USA. She spent much of her time in the role advocating for immigration rights, anti-bullying, and dating violence awareness and prevention, calling these initiatives her “favorite” part of the job. She continued:
“Never could I have imagined the journey that my childhood dream would take me on. Constant and consistent hard work and dedication all lead me to where I am today, and I hope that over the last seven years of competing in pageantry and sharing my journey with you all is something that inspires you to never give up on your dreams, whatever they may be.”
In a social media post, the Miss USA Organization wished her well upon her departure, sharing:
“We respect and support Noelia’s decision to step down from her duties. The well-being of our titleholders is a top priority, and we understand her need to prioritize herself at this time. We are currently reviewing plans for the transition of responsibilities to a successor, and we will soon announce the crowning of the new Miss USA.”
So, they’re moving on quickly — but fans aren’t ready for it! They’re actually SUPER worried and think there is a lot more to the story. Eagle-eyed supporters of the winner noticed something super eerie in her new post — a potential hidden message!
At a closer look, the first letter of the first few sentences in the 24-year-old’s IG statement spells out:
“I am silenced”

In the comments, fans spoke out about the secret statement, saying:
“The first letters of each sentence in this statement spell I AM SILENCED. Please do not allow them to steal your joy and light…speak your truth when the time is right.”

“One TikTok user, @AnnaNoellll, also broke down the severity of this decision, claiming that Noelia is the first winner to ever step down from her role. They added:
“Women work their entire lives to become Miss USA. There is thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars put into this. It is harder to compete in Miss USA than it is to be in the Super Bowl. This is a huge deal, so for someone to step down, it’s unheard of.”
When you put in like that, it’s even more shocking!
And there’s more! The same user also noticed that a big change occurred within the last month — with a new rule going into place that stated the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA social media accounts would now be run by the brand and not the titleholders. They blamed the change on the “reorganization” of the company and “following industry standards,” but could they have been trying to cover up something? Putting more safeguards in place to ensure Noelia couldn’t spill the tea about something scandalous?? Jeez!

If you don’t know, the Miss USA org and its sister pageant Miss Universe have been plagued with controversy and problematic allegations over the years. Miss USA 2019 Cheslie Kryst also tragically died by suicide in 2022, sending shockwaves through the community. So, the fact that Noelia may be hinting that she’s being silenced is certainly concerning to folks! We certainly hope Noelia’s okay and taking the time she needs for herself and her mental health!
