Morgan Wallen is going to jail! Kinda!
Months after the country crooner was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment, the verdict is in. If you need a refresher, he threw a chair off a sixth-story balcony at a Nashville bar in April while drunk, and it reportedly landed just feet away from a group of police officers on the street below. Luckily no one was hurt, but he ain’t quite getting out of this free.
On Thursday, a Nashville judge sentenced the 31-year-old to serve seven days of incarceration in what’s being described as a DUI education center. After that’s done, he’ll be on probation for two years, and must pay a $350 fine in addition to court fees.
Wow, he got lucky. It could have gone a LOT worse for him.

He apparently agreed to plead conditionally guilty judicial diversion — so if he makes it through his two-year probation period without any hiccups, his charges will reportedly be eligible for dismissal — and maybe even full-blown expungement. His attorney Worrick Robinson IV said in a statement to People:
“Mr. Wallen has cooperated fully with authorities throughout these last eight months, directly communicating and apologizing to all involved. Mr. Wallen remains committed to making a positive impact through his music and foundation.”
