Are the Mormon Wives ready to get the show back on the road?
As you know, filming for the fifth season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has been on pause after an alleged domestic violence incident involving Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen in February. They felt uncomfortable having cameras up during a “dangerous” and “sad situation.”
An audio recording obtained by NBC News of the cast’s meeting with the higher-ups at Disney and Hulu revealed they agreed to pause production until the legal action plays out. But that could be a long time! Seriously, who knows when it’ll end!
There’s currently an investigation into allegations made by both Taylor and Dakota stemming from that February incident, and it’s unknown if they’ll face criminal charges. DCFS is also involved due to Dakota reporting that Taylor has been abusing their 2-year-old son, Ever. The former couple both have temporary protective orders against each other, too. With all that going on, it could be a while before Mormon Wives films again if they stick to the OG plan! And with grocery and gas prices being as high they are, we all got bills to pay! So no wonder that doesn’t seem to be their wish anymore!

Multiple sources tell TMZ on Tuesday that the cast thinks production will resume in a matter of weeks as long as the execs are on board. They’re also pushing for it because the delayed production could impact their summer plans, so they want to get back to work and wrap things up as quickly as possible. Gotta get back to work to reach summer vacay mode!!
But wait…
What about their previous concerns with Taylor and Dakota? Well, insiders say those have been… drumroll please… resolved at this time.
OK, then!
Time (and $$$) heals all! And hey, if the cast is good to go, why not film again? Unfortunately, there is just one little issue… The higher-ups have not given the thumbs up yet!
Insiders with direct knowledge claim the network executives have not decided the show’s future, let alone the rest of the fifth season. So, sadly, this could be all wishful thinking!

However, the cast wants to film again — even if it means without queen bee Taylor! And if the former Bachelorette doesn’t return, it seems the rest have enough content to fill out the season! We mean, Jessi Draper‘s divorce with Jordan Ngatikaura and post-kiss drama with Chase and Miranda McWhorter could cover multiple episodes alone! Knowing this cast, they can stir up drama with a snap of their fingers, so we aren’t too worried about not having TFP around.
