Spencer Pratt & Heidi Montag Reveal Filming For The Hills: New Beginnings Season 2 Is Still On During Quarantine!

MTV‘s The Hills: New Beginnings is one of the many productions that were forced to shut down due to concerns over the coronavirus pandemic — but according to stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, things were really starting to get good before social distancing measures took over!

The notorious couple caught up with Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday and revealed network producers are hellbent on keeping all that momentum going as they prep for the show’s second season during quarantine. Where there’s a will, there’s a way!

During their video chat with ET‘s Katie Krause, Spencer said MTV has figured out a way to keep filming The Hills: New Beginnings but without large camera crews in their homes. Does this involve FaceTime footage captured on their phones? Confessionals recorded from the living room? Should we expect arbitrary drama started with a house plant to keep things spicy?

At this point, the nitty-gritty details are unclear, but we’ll obviously see how that plays out when it eventually airs.

Heidi and Spencer made sure not to give too much away, but they did spill enough tea on what was already shot before production was halted to keep fans intrigued for now! Pratt admitted:

“Before the quarantine, The Hills became the best show ever. Like, it got so good. I was like, oh, my gosh. So, it’s kinda frustrating. … Once when we all get out of this, everyone will be so turnt up to go out that everyone’s emotions will keep going, but, it was really good before we got locked up.”

“And it’s only the beginning,” added Montag, whose support sounds very on-brand if you ask us. Their shameless self-promotion aside, if you’re going to take anyone’s word on what insane TV drama looks like, it’d be from these two, right?

Spencer said there were two romances he “never saw coming” that were making the show really interesting, including 36-year-old Brody Jenner‘s rumored romance with 20-year-old TikTok star Daisy Keech. (So, that’s who he was spotted quarantining with. Mystery solved!)

Potentially referencing Jenner’s recent splits from Josie Canseco and Kaitlynn Carter, or her own marriage, Heidi said:

“There’s a lot of people too on the rebound from former relationships that might be looking for new relationships, but I think there’s a lot of drama going on in people’s marriages — in lives too — that will be interesting to play out, so there’s a lot of stuff going on.”

Sounds juicy!

As for how the couple is doing during quarantine, Pratt says they’ve been enjoying quality time together as a family while still tending to the pair’s business, Pratt Daddy Crystals.
