But before you get your panties in a knot, it’s not for security purposes like the airport.
The new scanner, dubbed MyBestFit, is a free service that will make it easier to shop for your size.
For example, maybe you’re a size 2 at one store and a 6 at another. The MyBestFit will cut out all the guess work so you know what size you are based on the retailer’s sizing guides.
Here’s how it works:
“YouΓÇÖll step, fully clothed, into the body imaging booth and stand still for about 10 seconds while the scanning wand rotates around you. Your exact body measurements are then matched to the sizing specifications of apparel brands.
After being scanned for your measurements, you will create a Shopping Guide at one of the touch-screen monitors at the kiosk. The mybestfit Shopping Guide lists styles that fit your exact body shape. You can filter the list by brand, style, price or retailer. The whole process takes about 10 minutes.”
Sounds pretty cool to us!
For now, the scanner can only be found at the King of Prussia Mall in Pennsylvania, but the company plans to add 13 more on the east coast and California by the end of 2011.
