Watch yourselves, Glee. You’re finally getting some competition.
The hot thing right now is to get a show on the air that can rival FOX’s powerhouse musical hour, but so far, no one has pitched an idea that’s made it to pilot. That’s why NBC had to bring in the big guns!
The network has just greenlighted an “ambitious one-hour musical” show called Smash that was based off an idea by Steven Spielberg. The famed director will produce the pilot, which “follows a cross section of characters who come together to put on a Broadway musical. ”
So, does this mean this show will produce original music? That would certainly set it apart from Glee.
Consider our curiosity piqued. What about U?
