The actress was well-known for her childhood roles in things like the K-drama A Brand New Life and the action-thriller The Man From Nowhere. She was in a number of popular pieces of media but stepped away from acting in 2022 when she was caught driving under the influence. She crashed her car into a guardrail, trees, and a transformer, which caused a power outage. She was fined about $15,000 for the incident.
Her most recent role was in Netflix’s Bloodhounds, where she played fan-favorite Cha Hyeon-ju. The show premiered on the streaming platform in the summer of 2023, but a lot of her scenes were cut after her controversial accident.
Our heart goes out to her family and loved ones. May she rest in peace.
