Now THIS is motivation!
It’s called GymPact, and it’s here for you in time for your weight loss resolution! The iPhone app lets you choose how many times you want to hit the gym during the week. Once you make that decision, GymPact puts a small amount of money into your account.
So, if you don’t go to the gym and check-in on your phone, and stay for 30 minutes, they deduct money from that account. It goes to to the community kitty and the people behind GymPact get 3% of the transactions.
If you DO go to the gym and stay for at least 30 minutes, you get a dollar.
Sounds like a great way to get people motivated, but we see a few problems.
You aren’t really playing with your own earned money, so that might always be in the back of your head. That, and it’s totally easy to fake checking in to places.
We’ll see if it takes off! It’s for a great cause: your health!
