Holy s**t… Did Rebel Wilson’s PR team just get caught doing what it sounds like they’re doing??
The Pitch Perfect actress has been wrapped up in a series of nasty legal battles for the better part of two years now. For those who aren’t up to speed, Rebel accused Amanda Ghost, a prolific songwriter and producer of her film The Deb, of a slew of atrocities. She claimed Ghost conducted “inappropriate behavior” toward star Charlotte MacInnes and accused her of “embezzling funds from the film’s budget.” The Bridesmaids actress also claimed the producer attempted to bury the film, but Ghost hit back with a countersuit denying all allegations and accusing Rebel of defamation.
Last month, a court ruling was NOT in Rebel’s favor as LA Superior Court Judge Thomas Long tossed out several of her claims, labeling them “immaterial and abusive.” Yikes! But given new information, that almost sounds like an understatement…

Over the weekend, The Hollywood Reporter obtained alleged audio of Rebel’s crisis PR team allegedly discussing potential details of a smear campaign to launch against Ghost. In the audio, PR specialist Jed Wallace allegedly instructs entertainment publicist Melissa Nathan to paint Ghost as a sex trafficker, reportedly without evidence, according to the outlet. Wallace says:
“We need to create a path where we expose Amanda Ghost as, like, the new Heidi Fleiss.”
For context, Fleiss was one of Hollywood’s most infamous madames who ran a high end prostitution ring in the ‘90s. Wallace continues:
“Like, the reason [Ghost] sucks so bad at music is because she’s actually getting hookers for [billionaire Len] Blavatnik. And that’s what she does, she’s an absolute madame and that’s why she’s so lethal, blah blah blah.”
For more context, Blavatnik’s AI Film company bankrolled The Deb. The audio ends:
“We can’t just do, like, oh, she’s a b**ch, she sucks. It’s, like, it’s got to be really, really heavy and connected to something that heavy.”
WTF!
At another point in the audio, Wallace seemingly refers to Justin Baldoni’s lawyer Bryan Freedman, who was representing Rebel at the time. You can listen to it (below):
According to THR, TAG vice president Katie Case revealed in a deposition the conversation was recorded and sent to her for instruction. She was also told to review a document detailing accusations against Ghost, which was allegedly authored by Wilson’s production company, Camp Sugar, according to court docs. The PR plan also included the creation of smear websites, one of which being the since-deleted Amanda Ghost is a Destroyer of Worlds.
In a statement, Ghost’s lawyer Camille Vasquez (who represented Johnny Depp when he won his defamation case against Amber Heard back in 2022) acknowledges that Rebel has denied involvement in any planning for a smear campaign — but raises an eyebrow:
“Rebel Wilson has repeatedly denied any involvement in the creation of the smear websites — not just on television but in her sworn legal testimony. We, however, had long suspected that she not only contributed to the malicious sites but that she was the driving force behind them. The evidence we have submitted to the court in California supports that conclusion.”
In another statement, Rebel’s lawyer Allyson Thompson notes:
“Freedman no longer represents Ms. Wilson and hasn’t for some time. In a deposition, Ms. Case also confirmed that she never personally spoke with Ms. Wilson.”
These are VERY serious allegations! Especially in a world with real perpetrators like Diddy and Jeffrey Epstein.
