Up there is the new poster for The Ides of March!
The drama, which stars George Clooney and Ryan Gosling, follows an idealistic staffer on a presidential campaign as he learns firsthand just how dirty politics can be.
According to George, the film was supposed to begin production in 2007, but as soon as Obama made the scene, he and writer Grant Heslov knew they couldn’t make that kind of movie then, saying:
Everyone was so hopeful and happy. Now, the cynicism has come back around, so it’s time. The major issues are some of the major issues we face every day, including questions of morality. We’re not trying to be polarizing.
Clooney, who openly criticizes George W. Bush and supports liberalism, says the film “is more about process than platform.” He also says Republicans will hate the beginning while Democrats will hate the end, so the level of offense will balance out.
We have a feeling a lot of people will go regardless of their own political agenda. George and Ryan together on the big screen? Yes, please!
