This story is just filled with all kinds of “WTF” moments, so try and keep up!!
Last October, Oriana Farrell was driving through New Mexico with her 5 children in her minivan when she was pulled over for speeding. However, what started as a routine traffic stop escalated when she attempted to flee the scene as the officer returned to his car to write her up!
It wasn’t long before she was eventually pulled over again, but the officer was NOT happy and attempted to force her out of the vehicle. That’s when Oriana’s 14-year-old son jumped out of the van and attacked the officer who pulled out his taser but did not fire!
Elias Montoya arrived on the scene as backup with very little information, however, he saw one officer with his weapon drawn while another was breaking a window with his baton!
Oriana once again attempted to drive away when Elias OPENED FIRE on the car filled with children from ages 6 to 16, but he says when he began shooting he had NO idea there were kids inside:
“If I knew that there was even one child in that vehicle. I wouldn’t have done it.”
We would hope not!!
Elias claims he only took action because he noticed the officers were outnumbered and was actually aiming at the tires of the vehicle. And if that apology was enough, he says he bought McDonald’s for the kids while they were being booked!
Unfortunately his fast food peace offering wasn’t enough to save his job as he has since been removed from the force! However, Oriana wasn’t quite off the hook as she also faces felony charges for fleeing the scene and her son was also booked for attacking a police officer!
Simply put, nobody won in this scenario!
