And it’s keeping the tourists away!
The holiday season is vastly approaching and that’s a big time of year for Manhattan. People come from around the world to see the tree at Rockefeller Center and skate in Central Park.
However, this year might not bring so many happy travelers as the threat of bed bugs has caused many to reconsider their plans. Many folks are afraid of the widespread epidemic throughout the city and have canceled hotel reservations and concert tickets just to avoid being bitten.
Sources have confirmed that the city’s tourism agency, NYC & Company, has only had “nominal” cancellations thus far, but the agency is still taking the situation “very seriously.”
Mayor Bloomberg added: “Hopefully, these things come and go, and this will go quickly.”
You better hope so!
