Who would elect a man that says this stuff?!
Newt Gingrich continues to state racially charged statements in his stumping for the GOP candidacy.
And to no surprise, his views go waaaay back to the beginning of his politcal career.
In a handwritten speech to discuss his theory of American civilization in 1993, Newt wrote highly racially divisive statements, including the following:
For poor minorities, entrepreneurship in small business is the key to future wealth. This is understood thoroughly by most of the Asians, partially by Latinos, and to a tragically small degree by much of the American black community.
Who thinks it’s okay to say shiz like that?!
Newt later placed “Blacks” in front of “Asians” but the statements were removed by the time the final draft was typed up. The original draft was part of more than 1,000 pages that made up evidence on Newt’s House Ethics Committee case that lasted three years!
The former Speaker also liked to frequently “shock” others with a survey question. A Southern newspaper asked “Do you believe all welfare recipients should be required to work, including women with young children?” Newt would answer “81 percent of southern blacks said yes, while only 11 percent said no.”
With other statements like “Obama is the food-stamp president” and America’s ghettos remind Americans of how “brutal” and “barbaric” people can be, it’s hard to take this man seriously.
Florida’s primary is up next, let’s see what he has to say on immigrants.
