Sigh, we guess Nicholas Sparks WON’T have a happy ending like Noah and Allie.
On Tuesday, The Notebook author announced his plans to separate from his wife of 25 years, Cathy Sparks.

The decision is sad as well as ironic — Nick has written MANY books on the topic of true love.
Well, fiction is a lot easier than real life!
Sparks said in a statement:
“Cathy and I have separated. This is, of course, not a decision we’ve made lightly. We remain close friends with deep respect for each other and love for our children. For our children’s sake, we regard this as a private matter.”
Aww. We hope Nick and Cathy’s five kids are doing okay during this difficult time.
Who knows, maybe a steamy and rainy reunion is in the Sparks’ future! You never know!
