Nick Reiner Disciplined After 'Extremely Hostile' Shower Outburst In Jail -- Whoa

Nick Reiner's 'Extremely Hostile' Prison Shower Outburst Revealed -- Whoa

New details are emerging about life behind bars for Nick Reiner, and they paint a pretty intense picture.

According to People in a brand-new report published on Wednesday, the 32-year-old was disciplined inside Los Angeles County’s Twin Towers Correctional Facility a couple months back after allegedly becoming “extremely hostile” while waiting to be escorted back to his cell following a shower on April 27.

A source familiar with the incident told the outlet that Reiner had finished showering and changed into fresh county-issued clothing but grew increasingly frustrated when deputies didn’t immediately return to take him back to his cell. The delay reportedly happened because officers were responding to another inmate who had suffered an apparent overdose elsewhere in the unit.

The source claimed:

“He was recalcitrant, extremely hostile, creating a verbal disturbance, refusing to follow rules and not listening to any commands. He was yelling, screaming, being disrespectful and shouting many profanities.”

Yikes.

According to that source, Reiner’s frustration quickly escalated as the wait dragged on.

The insider added:

“[Nick] became very impatient. He was upset and hostile because no one was coming back right away and he wasn’t attended to. He had finished showering and changed and wanted to return to his cell. When it took too long, he became frustrated and angry.”

The confrontation allegedly included hostile remarks directed at both a sheriff and a sergeant, prompting a deputy to call for backup. While several additional guards reportedly responded, the situation never turned physical, per the source.

The outlet reports Reiner was ultimately written up for violating jail rules and temporarily lost privileges including phone calls, visitation and commissary access for five days. The disciplinary action was reportedly reviewed by supervisors before being explained to him in his cell.

The mag also notes the incident happened inside the jail’s specialized medical observation unit, where inmates are housed separately and escorted individually under heightened security. Reiner has been living there since his arrest last December, and remains under close monitoring, with regular welfare checks and access to psychiatric and medical care.

While the mag reports this outburst has otherwise been an exception during his incarceration, the source claimed Reiner’s mental health has recently worsened, all the same. As the source put it:

“Lately, he’s not been doing very well. He’s been struggling inside jail.”

Yeah…

Of course, as we’ve been reporting, Reiner was arrested after the late 2025 stabbing deaths of his parents, filmmaker Rob Reiner and producer-photographer Michele Singer Reiner.

He has pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree murder and remains jailed without bail while awaiting further court proceedings. His preliminary hearing is currently scheduled for September 15.
