Nicole Kidman never misses an opportunity to instill a bit of motherly wisdom in her daughters.
The Oscar-winning actress visited the University Of San Francisco on Saturday and revealed pertinent advice she bestowed onto her daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15, after her divorce from their dad Keith Urban! Speaking at the university’s Silk Speaker Series, she dished:
“’I told them that the decisions you’re making now will affect your life, but also things will change as nothing is set in stone.”
She understands that truth better than anyone after having spent 19 years in a marriage with her country crooner ex, only for things to go by the wayside. What a difficult adjustment that must have been!

The Boy Erased actress continued:
“And primarily trying to create emotional stability is important for them so that they can feel like the world is your oyster.”
Important advice from such a strong momma! To be able to share that while surely going through a period of emotional instability herself truly speaks to her character! But that just goes to show how important it is to always be prioritizing your mental health so you can handle life’s curveballs. The mother concluded:
“I told them you’re going to have an incredible future, but it can be incredibly overwhelming.”
With Sunday Rose up and coming in the modeling scene, we’re sure this is some treasured advice! News of Nicole and Keith’s split broke last September, and by January, the t’s were crossed and the i’s were dotted on their divorce.

Elsewhere in her speech, Nicole shared with the audience advice her own father Antony Kidman bestowed on her before his death in 2014:
“He said you need to have grit, you’re not going to be the smartest person in the room so you have to use your wits.”
