Last we heard from Hairspray star Nikki Blonsky, she was working the register at a high-end shoe boutique in her hometown of Great Neck, NY…although she was of course totally denying it!
Now, we’re hearing that Nikki’s gotten her cosmetology license and she’s landed a job at Superstar Hairstylists (above, and below) in her hometown.
Here’s what customer Sally Miles had to say about it:
I was in the salon having my hair done and I saw her working there. I couldn’t believe it. She was sweeping up hair but also doing people’s make up. She was really nice and even let me take pictures of her. I asked her if she was still acting and she said that she is auditioning a lot. But she needs a day job too.”
Here’s what another customer had to say about Nikki:
I was so surprised today when I showed up at Superstar to get my makeup done and it turned out to be Nikki Blonsky applying it.
She did a great job and I really look like a SUPERSTAR. Thanks to all the wonderful staff and I wish all the best to their newest employee cosmetologist Nikki Blonsky.

Update: Nikki has confirmed it herself! She says:
Its true. I’m working at Superstar Salon as a makeup artist and more. I’m proud to be working and helping pay bills but I’ll NEVER lose sight of my dreams. Just ’cause I’m part time working doesn’t mean I’m gonna give up on my dreams and don’t give up on yours. I might book something big soon. Keep positive.
