Have you heard of Tomodachi Life?
It’s a Sim Life-esque Nintendo game with an inexplicable Shaquille O’Neal fetish, and it might be sending out a super shi** message to society!
See, players of the game are encouraged to create characters who engage in all sorts of real life endeavors, including intra-personal relationships and even marriage.
Unfortunately, marriage in Tomodachi Life, as it is in 33 states in this union, can only occur between a man and a woman.
Fans of the game have amazing hearts, though. They recently started a “#Miiequality├óΓé¼┬¥ campaign and petitioned developers to create an update which would allow for same-sex unions, but the game makers sadly aren’t having it. They’re rejecting the notion on the bogus grounds that they ├óΓé¼┼ônever intended to make any form of social commentary.├óΓé¼┬¥
Well, guess what, Nintendo? Your lack of social commentary is commentary in and of itself.
You’re on the wrong side of history here. Plus, wouldn’t it be awesome to see virtual Shaq marry another dude?
Shame on you, Nintendo!!
