UPDATE 5:35 P.M. PT — Well, well, well, it looks like KKW is trying to put out a social media fire! Minutes ago, the reality TV maven posted this tweet (below) giving much-belated credit to ZaZa for the original song, remixed and performed by North this weekend at Yeezy’s fashion show:

Poor North West!
The 6-year-old daughter of Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West is taking heat online after performing at her father’s fashion show with what is alleged to be a song lifted from another child performer, with no credit given. Yikes!!!

As you can see with this video (below), and plenty more like it that are floating around on social media right now, North is as cute as can be doing her thing on stage with the mic in her hand — all while in front of a live audience while models strut their stuff down the catwalk around her:

Honestly, just on its own, that’s pretty impressive. We couldn’t even imagine doing anything like that at six years old, are you kidding?!
But, that’s unfortunately not the end of this story — and not by a long shot. On Monday morning, the Red Carpet Girlz got word the song North performed at the fashion show was apparently one originally recorded in 2019 by their own ZaZa, who even created her own (amazing) music video for it!

Amid major commenter backlash and controversy on social media, the Red Carpet Girlz reacted to North’s use of the song during Yeezy’s show with their own Instagram response, sharing (below):
In addition to the two side-by-side videos, ZaZa’s family and supporters added the following in writing:
“In July of 2019, ZaZa & her dad went into the studio for the ultimate experience! To finally begin making the music she wanted to make. We take PRIDE in creativity, and believe whether a child’s involved or an adult… creativity deserves RESPECT/homage! What @kimkardashian (Kanye west) are doing with their daughter… with the inspiration of ZaZa & our family in mind is okay… we not mad BUT . . . PLS SHOW LOVE AND SUPPORT TO THE ORIGINAL FIRST!!! We admire Kanye west, and adore his journey. However, we don’t wanna feel like our daughter’s journey in the world of entertainment is being STIFLED. THANK YOU! ?”
Wow! Pretty self-explanatory with ZaZa and her dad mad about ‘Ye allegedly appropriating their song for his own daughter to use. Sort of lacks in creativity and originality, doesn’t it — covering someone else’s song in that context instead of creating your own?! Right, Kanye??
