Kim Kardashian still can’t get her hands on a certain family heirloom, at least not yet!
According to People on Friday, the reality star attempted to purchase an item that once belonged to her father, Robert Kardashian Sr., from the O.J. Simpson estate. What is it? A Bible belonging to the late attorney that contains a handwritten note to Simpson on June 18, 1994 — the day after the football player’s arrest for the murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown, and her friend, Ronald Goldman. The note reportedly read:
“O.J., this book will help. God loves and he will speak to you with his words. Read this book everyday. God has a definite plan for your life. You are his child and he will use you again. I love you and God loves you.”
We can see why the book meant so much to O.J… but also to Kimmy Kakes, so no wonder why she wants it so badly! She was even willing to spend a pretty penny on it, too! The SKIMS founder reached out to Malcolm LaVergne, the executor of the estate who is selling off Simpson’s assets to pay off leftover debts, and offered $15,000 for the inscribed Bible last month. However, her offer was rejected! Why? The first issue was, admittedly, about the money…

LaVergne explained to People the item was already under contract with the court to be auctioned off. It would have cost the same amount of money Kim presented to contest the matter, which meant there would have been no profit from the sale in the end — so he denied her offer. LaVergne said:
“The amount is why I had no choice, because why would I spend $15,000 of estate money — why would I spend $15,000 in attorney’s fees — to sell it to Kim for $15,000? That’s a zero-sum game. That’s a bad business model. If Kim had offered $150,000 for it, we would’ve been in court getting this approved outside of the auction.”
Ah, we get it! She wanted to buy it OUTSIDE the auction! And that would have been a legal nightmare! He noted to TMZ that he didn’t want to risk a lawsuit from Goldin Auctions. Ultimately, even if he wanted to sell it to Kim (if she’d offered a ton), he just couldn’t. Damn…
Kim hasn’t lost out on the bible yet, though! LaVergne noted she “can bid on it online” and “she may even get it cheaper than the 15 grand, so who knows.” It currently has a leading bid of $9,800. It’s unknown if The Kardashians star has tried to get the bible again, but something tells us she will try everything to get it through the auction now if she hasn’t already! If Kim does, good luck! Hopefully, she will be successful this time around!
