It couldn’t have been easy!
Olivia Wilde has opened up about her divorce from Tao Ruspoli, whom the 27-year-old married when she was just 18, and reveals that after everything was finalized, it took her a while to feel better – but in the end, it made her a better actress!
She explains:
“When you go through a breakup, you lose faith for a while. It makes you feel like such a failure, but I think this whole traumatic year has made me a better actor. And the good thing about getting divorced young ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ if there is a good thing ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ is that it makes you realize there’s no schedule in life. It blasts you wide open and frees you to be honest with yourself. The danger [with marrying young] is that you evolve over the years and find yourself in a different place. Tao was, and is, totally involved with his work, and for me there’s nothing sexier than a man who is busy and obsessed with what he’s doing. I guess I saw that in my parents’ marriage. They had real respect for their work and for each other.”
Very important qualities to find in a mate, we think!
Respect is so, SO important!
And even though one marriage came to an end, she can take the lessons she learned the first time around and apply them to whatever relationship she embarks upon when the time comes!
