The announcement that Oprah Winfrey had a half-sister came as a surprise to many.
Among those dumbfounded was Oprah’s father, Vernon Winfrey. And now the 78-year-old is $peaking with the media about the shock.
Vernon reveals:
“I knew nothing about it until yesterday but it was tear-jerking to me because it felt like a ‘coming home’ actually.
I knew Vernita’s two deceased children and she sent Oprah to me because she could not cope and was having a hard time.
And he has no harsh feelings towards Vernita. Adding:
“I don├óΓé¼Γäót blame her for giving-up Patricia because I know it was done out of love and she just wanted a better life for her. I intend to call Vernita and tell her to hold her head-up high because she has done nothing to feel ashamed of and she is a loving kind of person.├óΓé¼┬¥
Someone sure likes to talk a lot. Though daddy Vernon is pleased for Oprah as well. He goes on to add:
“I’m pleased for Oprah that she discovered that she has a new half sister and I would like to meet her too.
I intend to call Oprah later this evening actually to try and catch-up with her about the exciting news.”
Though we’re not too sure how pleased Oprah is going to be with her dad after he spoke to the media about the whole situation.
Shouldn’t he tell all of this to Oprah and not the press?
