Orlando Bloom’s second marriage will NOT end like his first, if all goes according to plan!
The actor recently sat down in an interview with Willie Geist for NBC’s Sunday Today where he spoke on his relationship with Katy Perry and opened up about why he’s confident they’ll go the distance.
Noting how the last thing he wants is a second divorce years after his marriage to Miranda Kerr fell apart, the Carnival Row star explained:
“It’s important to me that [me and Katy] are aligned. I’ve been married and divorced and I don’t want do it again… and we’re both fully aware of that. She’s remarkable and so I’m always so impressed with that and I’m encouraged.”
And he has good reason to be!

Not only are the couple aligned, they tend to bring out the best in each other. Take, for example, the extravagant proposal Bloom orchestrated for the songstress on Valentine’s Day earlier this year.
As the actor confessed in the interview, the idea of popping the question during an intimate helicopter ride was a bit out of his comfort zone — but he went through with it to cater to Katy’s flair for the dramatic. He teased:
“To be honest, she loves a theme as you can see in everything she does. She loves a big moment.”
We bet he’s given her plenty of big *moments*!
In return, Lando said he’s teaching his future wife to appreciate the “small moments” life has to offer, adding:
“I’m still trying to get her to wrestle into the small moments. The cool thing about what we’re doing, we’re learning to do the small together. I think we’re both fully aware that it’s a mountain to climb and that that mountain won’t stop, in terms of a relationship because I think that’s what it is and I love to evolve and fortunately, she does too.”
Katy, for her part, has been just as cautious about walking down the aisle a second time, seeing as Russell Brand filed for divorce from her just 14 months after they tied the knot.
During a recent appearance on KISS Breakfast With Tom & Daisy, she said of taking the next big step with her fiancé:
“[We’re] definitely trying to, like, lay the good emotional foundation for the lifetime of commitment, which is, like, a big deal, you know?”
Totally!
Relationships have to evolve to last (at least that’s what Jada Pinkett Smith says), so it sounds like Katy and Lando have the right idea here!
