Orthodox Jews Against The Internet

In New York, tens of thousands of ultra-Orthodox Jewish men gathered at the New York Mets’ stadium.
They were rallying about the dangers of the Internet and how to use technology in a religiously responsible way.
Women weren’t allowed to attend the meeting, as is Orthodox Jewish custom, though it was broadcast live to female audiences in Orthodox Jewish neighborhoods.
The whole rally was not about banning the Internet but how to harness it.
A spokesman for the event said:

“There is a very significant downside to the Internet. It does pose a challenge to us in various aspects of our lives.”

They attack only the best things on the Internet, the porn, the online gambling and social media.
If you take that away, we’re left with cute cat videos and├óΓé¼┬ª uh├óΓé¼┬ª umm├óΓé¼┬ª online tax filing?
Television is flat out banned or really discouraged in their religion, but many of them use the Internet on computers and smart phones.
We really think that it’s up to parents and the individual to regulate their own Internet usage.
Don’t want to look at porn? Then stop typing “BBW DP BDSM” into google.
It’s that simple.
